Description
This superb work presents for the first time a complete overview of the aircraft and seaplanes produced from 1926 to 1940 at the Nazaire site of the consortium “Loire-Gourdou-Leseurre – Loire-Nieuport – SNCAO”, which remains one of the most significant French aircraft manufacturers of the interwar period, particularly in the field of seaplanes.
It contains a wealth of previously unpublished information, with rare original plans and exceptional iconography including more than 400 black and white or color photographs.
In this year of commemoration of the centenary of the beginnings of seaplanes in Saint-Nazaire, this memorial immersion is also an opportunity to pay a strong tribute to the skilled workers, engineers, pilots, mechanics or Directors who lived through this exciting human and industrial saga, between “sky and sea”.
The result of meticulous research, this publication benefited from the active support of the associations “Je me Souviens” and “AIRitage”, as well as Airbus Atlantic Montoir-de-Bretagne and Saint-Nazaire, perpetuating the aeronautical activity of this site steeped in history.
It should be noted that QR codes have been integrated into this work allowing readers to view rare filmed sequences of the Loire seaplanes during their sea trials.
