Description
This volume explores the design and history of Willi Messerschmitt’s iconic World War II fighter, the Bf 109. Using text, mostly unpublished photos and colour profiles, author Mark Proulx follows the evolution of the Bf 109 from its earliest days with the Condor Legion to its final surrender in May 1945.
Special Number Three is an expanded edition compared to earlier titles in the series. There are 90 captioned photographs spanning 63 pages printed on thick, quality glossy paper. Text provides a glimpse into the evolution of the Bf 109 and the role it played within the Luftwaffe structure. There is also brief discussion on the camouflage and markings of the aircraft.
James Bentley displays his computer talents revealing fourteen new colour profiles, more than any of the earlier WOTBC editions. His profile work is the result of painstaking research and colour discussions.
