Ever since pilots have been going to war they have sought to personalize their aircraft with individual markings and art – often with visually attractive results. From World War I to the Gulf conflict this book looks at the range of art depicted on aircraft. The text examines all eras of nose art, the aeroplanes the art was painted on and a special chapter devoted to interviews with surviving nose artists about their art.
