Description
French text and captions.
This beautiful book of 376 pages published in large format to better highlight the photos and plans, provides for the first time a complete panorama of the planes and seaplanes produced in the interwar period on the site of the The Loire factory, SNCAO then SNCASO in Saint-Nazaire, today occupied by the AIRBUS group. It also gives pride of place to the careers of pilots and flying mechanics of this period.
This work contains a lot of new information with an exceptional iconography including more than 400 photographs in black and white or colour, a large part of which comes from the archives of the “Je Me Souviens” association of Saint-Nazaire with numerous glass plates miraculously preserved. Note that QR CODES have been integrated into this work allowing readers to view, using a simple mobile phone, rare filmed sequences of Loire seaplanes during their marine trials.
The release of this book coincides with the year commemorating the centenary of the beginnings of aviation in Saint-Nazaire. This publication received the active support of the associations “Je me Souviens” and “AIRitage”, as well as Airbus Atlantic Montoir-de-Bretagne and Saint-Nazaire which perpetuate the aeronautical activity of this site steeped in history. Reading truly like a novel, it should delight fans of aeronautical history and beautiful planes!
