Description
French text and captions. In 1908 Voisin and in America the Wrights were the only ones to build machines that actually flew. In 1910 Voisin was still at the same level as Blériot, REP, Saulnier, and even rather above. Then misled in the adventure of the Canard and overtaken by Blériot, Farman, Breguet, it rebounds with the Type L which, with its derivatives, will be built in large quantities from the beginning to the end of the Great War. But the multiple prototypes inspired by his imagination, and which are on the fringes, did not meet with success and Gabriel Voisin abandoned aviation in 1919 to devote himself mainly to the automobile. And incidentally we can mention prefabricated houses, inflatable hangars, motorized bicycles, armoured vehicles…, but his heart remained attached to aviation for which until his death.
